Who was the best writer you got to read at school?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rick Riordan and JK Rowling. Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are the best fiction books I've ever read.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But you read it at school? Cool! My school only ask us to read boring books.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I remember rather vaguely feeling the same when I was young, but I have re-read many of the books that I discounted when at school. My favourite from school days is The Trial by Franz Kafka. Now I read whatever I can, I feel lost if there are no books available. Reading is the best thing anyone will learn to do.

Mark Twain. I adored Huck Finn and soon got into everything he writes. My favorite writer ever by far.

Jane Austen, Chinua Achebe, and Mark Mathabane. Mr. Mathabane spoke at my high school when I was a junior, and had the entire high school silent and unmoving during his 40 minute talk. I've never seen anything like it. All three very different writers in very different time periods, but all fantastic.

j k rowling , enid blyton

OpenStudy (aravindg):

arthur conan doyle is also good

I really do like Doyle, I read when I was ten and last year my school asked us to read one of his books, so I read it again.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

cool .. he has a particular style of writing and handles the story like a wizard :)
