I NEED HELP PLEASE! What were popular forms of writing during the American Revolution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pamphlets (Thomas Payne), American religious disputes (John Winthrop), poetry, particularly religious poetry from the Puritans (Bay Psalm Book), African-American writings (Phillis Wheatley), and diaries such as by William Byrd. Also almanacs (Benjamin Franklin, of course), and a lot of diaries were published. Also books about nature, because so much of the colonies were totally rural and new.
