A manufacturer makes trusses, or triangular supports, for the foofs of houses. each truss is the shape of an iscoceles triangle in which line PQ is congruent to line PR. the length of the base line QR is 4/3 the length of each of the congruent sides. The Perimeter OF Each Truss is 60 ft. What is each side length?

How Many trusses can the manufacturer make from 150 feet of lumber?
x+x+(4/3)x=60 multiply everything by 3 3x+3x+4x=180 collect like terms 10x=180 divide both sides by 10 x=18 therefore, the two sides are 18 ft each, leaving 24 ft for the base
