Hello Guys... I've started MIT 18.01 few days ago and already viewed the first two lectures. I can't find the text so I'm using "Calculus and Analytic Geometry 9th edition by Finny and Thomas".. The beg. subjects are the same but the sequence is different. Will that confuse me? If you have any alternatives please advice me.

Try Simmons, George F. Calculus with Analytic Geometry. 2nd ed. New York, NY: McGraw-Hill, October 1, 1996, ISBN: 9780070576421

Yes ... But I'm in Egypt and I can't find that text so I'm using Finny's. Do you know it and how it goes with the course?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Finney and Thomas is a good text...the sequence sometimes changes even with the same author....some will teach early trancendental functions and some late...I would stilll use the text...if you already have it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure if what laws may apply to you over there in Egypt, but a possibility is library.nu. If you want to try out a different text, there should be a few some options.

Then try Calculus by Michael Spivak Cambridge Univ. Press.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay .... I'll give it a try though Thomas & Finney text is quite good. Thanks a lot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I have to warn u some of the problems will really get u going!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The problems on Thomas and Finney were challenging at the beginning because it's not used to this kind of conceptual problems. But after reviewing some answers and trying it again it was fine.

I think you should check THOMAS' CALCULUS 11th ed ,, el ktab da gamd :)
