Do we know who invented math?
albert einstein?
Muslims invented algebra though.
Archimedes
Can you imagine what a trippy idea it must have been?

lol
What do you think? @Luffy

Different cultures have made their own forms of mathematics. The Mayans, Indians, Greeks, and Chinese all developed seperate math systems. Our mathematics today comes mainly from ideas developed in ancient India and Greece. Algebra and other topics were taken from India to Arabia, where they were then transferred to Europe. Most of our geometry comes from the Greeks. Calculus was developed in Europe by Sir Isaac Newton.
I tried to go to an old database to steal karatechopper's pic, but it was already gone. Watch your back once you change your pic back karatechopper :p.
I think albert was high.
No one person invented math. It has always been used in some form.
lol.
Einstein was a genius, regardless.
But he did like those "special" brownies so much..
The ancient Greeks were fascinated by it and did a lot of work developing deduce reasoning and some results in geometry (e.g., Pythagorus Theorem) that we still use today. What mathhasproblems says is completely right, except for the last sentence. Calculus was developed in parallel by Newton in England and Leibniz in Germany. It's also worth noting the French Philosopher and Mathmatican, Rene Descartes, who gave us Cartesian geometry in the early 17th century.
Nobody knows who invented math... but if there's anybody who has perfected the art, I think it's JamesJ
@agd: I wish
What is cartesian geometry anyway?
While we're talking about the big guns of math let me just mention Gauss.
Cartesian geometry? The most important aspect is the coordinate system, something most of us use every day without thinking about it.
