What's the difference between an ABSOLUTE extrema and a RELATIVE extrema?

absolute extrema is the highest or the lowest value a function can attain, whereas relative extrema is local extrema, suppose b, f(b) is a local extrema so this is the highest or lowest value nearby the point b,f(b)
