Phyllis Philatelist goes to the store to buy some 10 and 20 cent postage stamps. If there are twice as many 10 cents stamps as 20 cent stamps, how many of each kind did Phyllis buy with $ 3.60? I can't figure it out. Please help!

OpenStudy (mertsj):

let x = the number of 20 cent stamps Then how many 10 cent stamps did she buy?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Are you there, elsea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Can you answer my question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm trying to figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be 2x

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Please notice that the problem says the number of 10 cent stamps is twice the number of 20 cent stamps.
