In 1990, 12.5% of the people in Oregon did not have health insurance. if the population of Oregon was 2,880,000 , how many people were uninsured?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what you would have to do is times the population by the percentage as a decimal, so 2,880,000 * 0.125 = uninsured = 36000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the number times the percent turned into a decimal gives the right result?
