Paulo raised $900 in three months to pay for his trip to a band competition. Which rule best applies to determine how much he raised each month? 1.The product of two positive integers is a positive integer. 2.The product of two integers with different signs is a negative integer. 3.The quotient of two integers with different signs is a negative integer. 4.The quotient of two positive integers is a positive integer

OpenStudy (mathmate):

You're doing a division here (900/3=300), it is "natural" to choose #4, but the statement #4 is false, namely the quotient of two positive integers is positive, but not necessarily an integer! #1 is correct, but it relates to multiplication, which is not what you do here. Choose one of the two evils.
