For a class pizza party of 12, Esther bought small bottles of juice and 9 large bottles of water. Let j represent the cost of juice and w represent the cost of water. Write an expression to determine the total cost for the drinks. Then, calculate the cost if juice costs $1 and water costs$2 .

Assuming she bought 3 small bottles of juice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i figured that out but you have to write a expression?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was my question sorry. 3j + 9w I would think and going from that expression it would be $21.

An expression does not need an equal sign, that's what makes it different from an equation.
