Help me to make an essay about GENDER EQUALITY/BIAS?
Well when I write an essay I generally try to brainstorm ideas and use those separate ideas as paragraphs. What is your essay question? Perhaps try some research and see some other peoples ideas, maybe get some ideas from media and movies, what gender stereotypes are out there about equality/bias (eg. females find it harder to find work). Try and use your own opinion to form your argument. Please don't spam the "help me messages", gets in the way of other users questions :)
Topics that can be studied and statistics gained for comparisons include: salaries and wages, employment biases - eg female representation at various levels/"closed shops", historical accounts - eg suffrage, right to work after pregnancy, military enlistment, education. Anecdotal evidence from novels and old magazines - read "etiquette" books for ideas. Find something quirky/novel and expand rather than being all-inclusive eg Why is the woman's place in the home, who dictates the length of a hem, when could women first drink alone in a bar and why, the female priest, breast feeding, etc. Some societies/cultures still impose strict rules/bans on women's activities.
Implement theories structured around second wave feminist or critical feminist theories. A simply google search will bring up your main characters. After that, it's simply a matter of constructing an argument which you want to write about.
First what is your opinion, put that first, then show the facts that will prove your point. Such as in my introduction I would probably state: Gender equality has been an issue for years with bias towards the males ability and necessity to earn more, do more and set the standards within the home and workplace. Then I would go into the women's rights movement long ago and then to the new female positions that have been opened up that were only male positions. Possibly the biblical issues if you care to. And then I would end it with the loss of gender differences that have also caused a change within society. Yet some of the benefits of this have actually become negative also, if this is one of your opinions and go on with what you have found out and what you believe. I would have both sides as I believe it is positive and negative in many ways. But you have to give your opinion, and the facts you have found.
First Step: Brainstorm and write ALL the words which come to your head about Gender Biases and/or Equality, write for 5 minutes without stopping. (Like gender, girls, feminist, advantage, etc.) Write everything you can think of. Second Step: Once 5 minutes are over, pick out some best ideas from the brainstormed list you have just made. Third Step: Make a rough outline of whatever you are going to write: Essentially, your essay should have 3 parts Introduction:(1 paragraph) Body:(2/3 paragraphs) Conclusion:1 paragraph Just a rough outline I've mentioned ;) You would like to start with a general statement which describes how the world treats both male and female genders. You can put it like (In the modern days, it is not unusual to see women working in offices and industries alongside men. Much have changed since the beginning....) something like this xD Then you can put the thesis statement which should represent your main idea, if you feel there's a gender inequality between males and females and feel that males are getting more biased decisions towards them, you can write it that way. Secondly, comes your body of the paragraph. You can include 1 or 2 paragraphs in it. Depending on your need. The first paragraph can be about the inequality between males and females, elaborating it. Second paragraph can be about how are the biases present in favor of either males or females. Thirdly, comes your conclusion where you can either restate your thesis statement or summarize your points in the entire essay. Finally you can conclude with a strong judgment which will leave a lasting impression on them like 'Even if gender inequalities do not help an individual achieve his/her true potential, such factors still cannot change who you really are' or something like this.. Good luck, hope that helps!
