Please Help The measure of each interior angle of a regular polygon is 20 degrees more than three times the measure of each exterior angle. How many sides does the polygon have??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does it help you, when I say that the sum of all exterior angles is 360°?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry No I already knew that how woyld that help me develop an equation??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm... tricky one... Let the exterior angle be x and the interior angle be x+3x+20. But I dont know what inte sum om the interior angles should be... What does it mean when it says "regular polygon"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it is a regular polygon the equation to find the measure of each exterior angle is 360/number of sides AND the equation for the measure of each interior angle is sum of interior angles/number of sides. If it weren't a "regular" polygon we wouldn't know these equations and wouldn't be able to find those measures.

Hmmm...

Searched a bit on Google and found this. http://www.algebra.com/algebra/homework/Polygons/Polygons.faq.question.392784.html

Don't know why the sum om the internla angles is 180 though... but is seem ok! (the answer)

Thanks
