Kyle lives 7/9 miles from school. If he walks to school each day, how far will he walk in a 5-day week? What do u do is it mulitpying or dividing please help me!!!!!

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

multiply 7/9 by 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How much does he walk in one day? He walks 7/9 in the morning then 7/9 in the afternoon right? So figure out what that means for 5 days in a week.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so u multiply 7/9 by 5 and then u will get the answer is that right?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, that is correct if you are only calculating how much he walks to school. But what about walking home? You're asking how much he walks in a week, so you're really asking what is 7/9 * 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but why thoe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no itonly says to school thoe so what wouldn't be what i said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wouldn't be 7/9 5 is that right well it would be multiplying then in't that right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct, you use multiplication to solve this problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank u there is a medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 3 8/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got another one for ya
