Solving rational inequalities

OpenStudy (askme12345):

x+8/x-7>0

OpenStudy (askme12345):

you have to find the solution and chart it on a number line|dw:1326065657628:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For that ratio to be greater than zero, either x+8>0 AND x-7>0. OR x+8<0 AND x-7<0. So, find the ranges of numbers for which both those hold true.

OpenStudy (askme12345):

i am supposed to solve using the number line, so i found the x intercept -8,0 then the vertical asymptote = 7 and i ploted a line there and i know i am supposed to find where it is + or - then do the equation
