renee1 - the equation is already given to you. Y is the amount of money earned. X is the number of hours worked. To find how much money is earned for working X number of hours, you just have to calculate the value by plugging in value of X. Your question asks pay for 7 hours of work after first day. Plug in x = 7 and calculate Y. All such questions can be answered in a similar way.
