We learn about so many wars in history. How many years have we gone, in total, over all of human history, without any wars?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

War has always been and will always continue to be a undeniable facet of both our past and present state. Look up Frederick Nietzsche's concept of the Will to Power. I think it offers, if not a very comforting outlook, at least a pragmatic, realistic one. I think, however, it is not so much war, that is most applicable to social reality, but violence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

According to W.J.Durant, from 3421 years of documented history, there are only 268 years without war.
