Choose the proper form: a) In the sentence John feels happy, the word happy is the direct object. b) In sentance Give me the book, me is the indirect object. c) The words turn the page cannot be written as a sentence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think? B is not correct. You need the definite article "the" between In and sentence. Also, sentence is spelled wrong and you need a comma after sentence.

OpenStudy (jagatuba):

You question is unclear. Are the sentences a, b, and c to be evaluated for their form OR are a, b, and c statements to be evaluated for their truth. If it is the latter I believe b is correct because 'me' is the indirect object. Who gives? 'You' (understood) therefore the subject. What is given? The 'book' therefore the direct object. Although I'm not sure because a seems true too. Who feels? John (therefore subject). What does John feel? Happy (therefore direct object). C is definitely false because 'the words turn the page', is grammatically correct even though it might sound silly.
