Do you mean your PHP source code file, or a file you're trying to write to from within your PHP script?

Perhaps you need to change the file's permissions.

If you are using an FTP client, you can right click on a file and there should be an option for properties. You should then see a window open with an option for changing permissions. Make sure you have write permission.
