A chessboard is made of 64 small squares. Suppose a single square on a chessboard has an area of 6 square centimeters. How long is one side of the entire board, rounded to the nearest centimeter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the board is laid out in a square, the length of a side is the square root of the area (64)... so each side is 8 long. Repeat the process for the individual size of the squares (square root of 6cm) and multiply by 8.
