State whether the following figures are always similar or not? Squares Rectangles Rhombuses Trapezoids Parallelogram Kites Equilateral triangles Equiangular triangles I think there is only three right? Squares Equilateral triangles and? & how do you actually know if the polygons are ALWAYS similar or not?

OpenStudy (nottim):

Always similar in what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in polygons

OpenStudy (nottim):

Sorry, in length? Angle? General "shape" (haha)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think shape.

OpenStudy (nottim):

And are they similar to each other? Or to another form of itself?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To another form of itself. Like a rectangle with a rectangle.

OpenStudy (nottim):

And why did you choose your answer as it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean? The Squares & Equilateral triangles ?

OpenStudy (nottim):

Squares don't look like triangles...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course not lol

OpenStudy (nottim):

Then I obviously don't understand the question. But I think that equilateral triangles are very similar to equilangular triangles.

OpenStudy (nottim):

But if you're answering if the angles say the same, then you are correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. Thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, what do you mean by "if the angles say the same" ?

OpenStudy (nottim):

stay the same when you readjust size.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

& those two answers are DEFINITELY correct! - I just don't why.

OpenStudy (nottim):

Definitely. What about Equiangular triangles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (nottim):

Ok. I dunno.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't ask why! lol I have no idea.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome! Thankss :)

OpenStudy (nottim):

Ok...Did I help? Doesn't feel like I helped.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol HONESTLY no but anything is appreciated

OpenStudy (nottim):

ok....anything else I can "help" with?

OpenStudy (nottim):

I'll be off them. Hi-Hey the Derry-Row.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nah! Thanks this is the only question which actually confused me -.- Okay, bye.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Btw, I'm really sorry! The Equiangular triangles are also similar because all angles are congrunet. & Similar polygons are said to be similar if and only if the corresponding angles are congruent and the sides are proportional.
