HELP PLEASE According to the united states Census bureau, the united states population was projected to be 293,655,404 people on july 1,2004. The two most populous states were california, with a population of 35,893,799, and texas with a population of 22, 490,022. Estimate the percent of the united states population who lived in California or Texas.

I think you just have to... (35,893,799 or 22,490,022)/ 293,655,404 (the or for which one you choose.) and then estimate the percent but solving the large fraction above and multiplying by one hundred to find the percent and rounding to the appropriate place. I usually round to 3 places, but I don't know your common place.
