What are the x- and y-intercepts of y = 2x^(2) - 10x + 8?

OpenStudy (lalaly):

for the y intercept set x=0 y=8 so (0,8) and for the x intercepts set y=0 2x^2-10x+8=0 and solve for x

As lalaly says, you just need to factorize the 2x^2-10x+8=0 part. There is a simple trick to make it even simpler. Get rid of the 2 coefficient of x.
