Hi everyone, Can you tell me how can I run a news website almost like CNN with the least programming abilities? I have used programs like webstudio 5; but they are mainly used to make fixed websites and we cannot blog in them. I have used wordpress; but I haven't found anyway to create a category tab in wordpress, such as Human Rights, Peace, Dialogue among civilizations, etc. I truly appreciate if you suggest me a good and easy way to do so!

There are typically plugins for Wordpress to do things like that. You can also look into Drupal or Joomla.

you can make it without knowing how to program, but it probably will cost you a bit of money. Such as if you were to use WordPress, you would pay anywhere from $20-$160 for a good template, then you would have to design the website (which does not require any programming skill).

Drupal or Wordpress. These two CMSes (content management systems) are widely used, and have well developed support communities. They have something else in common that is helpful for getting started: free managed versions that you can use without knowing how setup a webserver - drupalgardens.com and wordpress.com, respectively. Wordpress is your best choice for a one-editor blog. Drupal is superior for a situation with multiple editors and logged in users due to a robust user access control system. Categories can be handled in Drupal by tagging your news articles using Drupal's 'taxonomy' module. Use the 'views' module to get those custom lists of content - like all articles written on Human Rights. Despite the greater complexity of Drupal, I chose it over Wordpress for its extensibility - I won't need to upgrade to a more powerful system as my website grows. Furthermore, all the modules are free unlike Wordpress. An offshoot of Drupal is call OpenPublish, which, come to think of it, may require even less customization then any other option - its tailored specifically for running news websites. Unlike Wordpress and Drupal, there's no instant gratification way to take it for a spin, so you'll need to install it on a web server first. You can find it at www.openpublishapp.com
