hi my teacher just yelled at me because i didnt understand what the difreence of the independent vairable and dependent vairlable can i get some help pleease

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Independent variable is the one that does not change with other conditions. If you think about an experiment, your independent variable would be your treatment. The dependent variable is the one that does change. In experiment it is called response variable. For example if you want to evaluate the speed of chemical reaction in response to temperature change, then your temperature will be independent variable (treatment) and the speed of reaction will be the dependent variable or response variable.
