How would you cite a recipe for shoestring onion rings. The recipe is by Sarah Gabriel in the August/September 2011 issue of Cook's Country, volume 7, issue 40, page 11. I am doing a series of APA exercises and this one has me a little stumped. My APA manual and PERRLA don't really help when trying to cite a recipe. Thanks in advance.
You must be in the OU Nursing program. I'm also looking for the answer :)
I am in the OU program. Some of those citations are tricky. I think the recipe one goes something like this: Gabriel, S. (2011, August/September). Shoestring Onion Rings [Recipe]. Cook’s Country, 7(40), 11. I can't do a hanging indent...but you get the idea. I am not sure if its correct. I am wondering if you put the August/September part or not.
I am also in that program! Any help for exercise 1. For the life of me I cant find anything wrong with number 1 and 3?
BTW that is the correct citation
#1 1300's should be 1300s #3 state of Ohio ... should be State of Ohio
For #1 I thought it should read "Toilet paper was used first in the 1300s." I didn't find anything wrong with #2. Did anyone find a problem with #2? Who is your TA?
In #2 you can't use contractions in APA. So it should be The monkeys could not find the fruit. My TA is Perry
My TA said that one of the statements was correct and had no errors. Did you find one with no errors?
I didnt find anything wrong with the Ohio one. My TA is Perry
My TA is Kanyok. I think the word State should be capitalized in the Ohio one.
The last one about the hair balls is the one that I put was correct. There is a part on the OWL website that talks about paretheses used for that purpose. Giving the name of the hairballs is not directly related to the subject so putting it in parentheses is fine and because the parentheses are in the middle of a sentence they require a comma afterwards. APA manual page 93. These are only conclusions that I am drawing from the information I find. No guarantees that I am correct :)
I'll check out those sources. Thanks for the information!
