What is an example of gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

You hold an egg above the floor. It has gravitational potential energy. You release the egg. The force acting on it is gravity. It accelerates towards the floor. The gravitational potential energy is being converted into kinetic energy, the energy of the motion of a body. The egg has maximal kinetic energy just before it hits floor. When it does, all of that energy smashes the egg, makes a noise and releases some heat.
