you can change the decimal to an improper fraction....then mulitply by its reciprocal....

Hi Pross, thanks for that.  However, I know how to carry out the operation, I just can't figure out what it's actually telling me.  

For example, is it telling me that if the whole number is a quarter of the full amount, then taking away another value?
 perhaps not explaining it very well
