1x + 5y = 4 5x - 1y = 3 Are the lines of the equations above parallel or perpendicular?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Slope for y, then check out their slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand but thank you...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are perpendicular

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

rearranging: ist equn. y = -(1/5)x - 4 2nd: y = 5x - 3 this should tell you the answer to your question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No need to rearrange, just sum the product of the coefficients for x and y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oi thank you :D
