hey can you please teach me how to completely factor 16b^4 - a^4 and 2x^4 - 16x^2 -18? please help ill give a good answer to anyone that tries!

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Whenever you factor anything, you always look for a common factor.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

There is no common factor in 16b^4-a^2

OpenStudy (mertsj):

But notice that it is the difference of two perfect squares. So we can use the formula: a^2-b^2=(a-b)(a+b)
