I solved this langrange multiplier question: Using the method of Lagrange multipliers, find the maximum and minimum distances from the curve 2x^2+ xy + 2y^2= 8 to the origin. I got all the points but is there a specific way to determine if a point is a max/min or should I just plug the points back into f to see if its a max/min(as in the highest value is max and lowest min)?
