which fractions are equivalent to 0.6 and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi. 0.6 is really 6/10. So, the fraction 6/10 is its equivalent and also 3/5 if you reduce the fraction further by dividing both the top and bottom by 2. Voila!

If you wanted to list even more fractions that are equivalent, you could multiply both the numerator and denominator by different numbers, ie., multiply them by 3 and youi'll get 18/30, and on and on.
