When do we say a system as an "online" system?
Typically, online means powered on and connected. This usually means to the network, but as for printers, on-line means that it is powered on and ready to accept jobs.
Yeah it depends on the context. It could mean a system that is powered on and ready to go or a system that is connected to and communicates in some way with the Wold Wide Web.
Online could also be used in the context of algorithms, online algorithms, where input data is processed serially and so the data can be constantly streamed to the system instead of needing to have the entire data at the beginning.
in my opinion it is related to the system that connect to the internet. if we try to find the meaning of online it self by word it can be put a system on a line. it can be system is on or the system on a network such as internet
