Find the volume of a cylinder of height 6" and base with circumference 16 pi ".

The volume of a cylinder is the area of the base multiplied by the height. To find the area of the base, you need to know the radius of the base. Since you know the circumference of the base and since C=2pi(r) you can find the radius. Can you do that?
The first equation you can solve is Circum = pi 2r 16pi = pi 2 r, 16 = 2 r r = 8 Vol = pi (8 sqd) 6 Vol = pi (64) (6) Vol = 384pi
