is 7x^2-28x+4y^2-8y=-2 is it a circle, ellipse, parabola or hyperbola?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Well, it can't be a circle because the coefficients of the x^2 and y^2 terms are not equal.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

It can't be a parabola because a parabola would have x^1 and y^2 or x^2 and y^1

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If it were a hyperbola, either the x^2 term or the y^2 term would be negative.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an ellipse?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Bingo!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u so much!!!

OpenStudy (mertsj):
