Hi I need help on fraction expressions,
\[m/2+ m/3=10\]
If you multiply EVERY term by the LCD 6, you'll get the equation 3m + 2m = 60 Now you can solve for m: 5m = 60 m = 60/5 m = 12
so how do you know what the lcd is if it the questions is like 3xover4+5xover2=13
The LCD here is 4 since the LCM of 4 and 2 (both denominators) is 4.
then u divide by four
then you multiply EVERY term by the LCD 4 to clear out the fractions.
oh ok so 4(3)x + 4(5x)=4(13)
13/8
close...it's more like 4(3x/4) + 4(5x/2)= 4(13) which becomes the much simpler equation: 3x + 10x = 52
now solve to get 3x + 10x = 52 13x = 52 x = 52/13 x = 4
how did you get 10x?
oh nevemind thank
4(5x/2) = 20x/2 = 10x
thank you! i still hate math!
lol np, that's ok, just keep at it and you'll get it
sure lol maybe or maybe not its the damn fractions thats kill me
well once you've cleared them by using that trick, things aren't so bad...just have to remember how to clear them
i try to keep that in mind.
also, keep in mind this trick only works with equations
