Why no edit buttons? I am just inquisitive to know about: why can't we have any editing feature (edit button) in OS? Thanks,

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

Lots of people have requested this feature. Both for editing a question and also for editing a reply.

Whoever typed that thing in Tomas's picture has very bad English.

In essence, because you don't have edit buttons for chat. answers on OpenStudy are conversations, not just posts, and not having edit buttons encourages their treatment as such. That said, it's a decision we're continually re-evaluating and reconsidering.

But what about the answers or posts that have long solutions and huge amount of latex. What if somehow you forgot a bracket, of course there is a preview but sometimes you miss the error. Especially when In-line format is used (Now that preview for In-line doesn't work). I don't know about others but it has happened with me, and it feels so bad when you realize your 'typos' and errors after posting the reply or answer.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

The point about inline preview not working is fair, and I still need to track down what's up with that. We may see about implementing something like facebook, where deleting your post within some amount of time puts the content back into the reply box for editing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sometimes you make mistake in latex even with preview, of course you can right click and look at code and copy, but if you use it more than one time it gets painful. Also you may make mistake when asking questions since there are no preview at all.
