What is the difference between the functions of mitochondria & chloroplast that makes them important to the cell, where the cell cannot live without either of them? Thanks:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They both supply cells with the energy in a form of ATP, but chloroplast uses the energy of light (photosynthesis) while mitochondria produces ATP by oxidizing the major products of glucose, pyruvate, and NADH.
