Solve x2 – 3x = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you try this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no so hard :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use quadratic formula

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

Use the quadratic formula and sub it in. \[\frac{-(b)\pm\sqrt{(b)^{2}-4(a)(c)}}{2(a)} \] \[a = 1 , b = -3 , c=-1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's really not =) There's other ways of doing it, but the "one-size-fits-most" is the quadratic formula. Rearrange to form \(\Large a{x^2} + bx + c = 0\) and apply the audratic formula: \[\Large \frac{{ - b \pm \sqrt {{b^2} - 4ac} }}{{2a}}\]

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

At least try it this time.
