In haploid species all chromosomes are different, the number of chromosomes in haploid invidual is called Haploid Number and it's represented by n. In diploid species, each chromosome is doubled, one of the pair comes from the mother and the other from the father, this pair is called Counterpart Chromosomes. The Diploid Number is represented by 2n
