Which of the following is the vertex of the quadratic equation y = –4(x – 6)2 + 2? (6, 2) (6, –2) (–6, 2) (–6, –2) and show me how you got that answer please?

myininaya (myininaya):

\[y=a(x-h)^2+k => (h,k) \text{ is vertex }\]

myininaya (myininaya):

so the equation you have is in that form

myininaya (myininaya):

so what looks to be h=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-6,2)?

myininaya (myininaya):

almost

myininaya (myininaya):

h is 6 in both equations there is minus in front of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so in the form you said because the h is - and in my equation is -6 so it turns to positive 6?
