OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I just began a chapter on trigonometric functions and graphing them. Instructions for the worksheet: Determine the amplitude, period, and frequency of the function. Problem: y=3sin(x/2)

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the period for sin(x) is 2π the period for sin(x/2) is 4π

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

And what about the frequency and amplitude?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Sorry I don't know ANYTHING about this, its my final assignment ever and we didn't learn anything about it.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

well the amplitude for the sin(x) is 1 amplitude for 3sin(x) is 3

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

And frequency, isn't that the reciprocal of the period?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yeap
