While traveling along at 96 km/h, a 14.4-kN auto runs out of gas 16 km from a service station. Neglecting friction, if the station is on a level 15.4 m above the elevation where the car stalled, how fast will the car be going when it rolls into the station, if in fact it gets there?

OpenStudy (nottim):

Convert the kN to N first. Remove all annoyances. then draw a diagram, and figure out what's given. Standard Procedure.

umm... yeah that much i figured out but i dont get the angled station part

OpenStudy (nottim):

There's an angle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah look at the question .....if the station is on a level 15.4 m above the ELEVATION....

OpenStudy (nottim):

Erk. FBDs and situational diagrams help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for your reply but i kind of tried that already and i dont think it helped very much

OpenStudy (nottim):

I think the FBD would. Cause there's gravity. And at first, I wouldn't have noticed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i figured it out with kinetic and potential energy...well thanks anyways

OpenStudy (nottim):

Oh well. Nice work then. BATMAN AWAY
