What is the difference between photodiode and photovoltaic? is it about the way they convert? like in photodiode, it converts light into current/voltage while photovoltaic converts solar radiation..

Both photo diode and voltaic works with light and convert it into electrical energy. It's just that in photo voltaics the semi conductor is modified to restrict the amount of current flowing out, therby voltage builts up.
