Choose the system of equations which matches the following graph. (posting below) A) x + 2y = 4 3x - 6y = 18 B) x - 2y = 4 3x + 6y = 18 C) x + 2y = 4 3x + 6y = 18 D) x - 2y = 4 3x - 6y = 18

seems like c because

I think the best way is to find the equation of the two lines from the figure, and then you can find the answer. but keep in mind that, the equations may be multiplied to a factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in one equation x=0 when y = 2 in the other x = 0 when y = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only c fit these values

OpenStudy (ash2326):

option c blue line crosses x at 4 and y at 2 so 2y+x=4 red line crosses y axis at 3 option c has the other equation 3x+6y=18 it's the only option satisfying both conditions C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the ans is definitely c and one can answer just by looking... both the lines cut the x and y axis in the positive side hence both equations must be positive
