A racing car has a mass of 1525 kg. What is its kinetic energy if it has a speed of 108 ks/h?
so do you know the formula for KE?
I do, but Im having trouble with conversions
what needs to be converted here?
I'll help you, I just want to see if you're engaged, so tell me what you're having trouble with in particular. What do you need to convert and what do you need to convert it to?
Um I think the km/h needs to be converted to km/s
Into m/s. Speeds have to be in meters/second to be in SI units.
This is how I'd do it, because I can never remember the conversion factors. I do it step by step 108 km/hr = 108,000 m/hr = 108,000/60 m/min = 108,000/60^2 m/sec Now calculate that last expression
Is it 30 m/s?
Yes 108 km/hr = 108,000 m/hr multiplying by 1000 to get km -> m = 108,000/60 m/min dividing by 60 to convert hr -> min = 108,000/60^2 m/sec dividing by 60 to convert min -> sec = 30 m/sec
Okay thank you ^^
