, let U = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,...}, A = {1, 2, 3, 4,...}, B = {4, 8, 12, 16,...}, and C = {2, 4, 6, 8,...}. Determine the following...A′ ∩ C. someone please explain to me what I am suppose to do here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks like A is positive integers and U is positive integers plus 0 so \[A'={0}\] what is in U but not in A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[A'\cap C\] is everything that is both in A' and in C, but they have no elements in common, so it is empty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some people write { } for the empty set

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some write \[\phi\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but how did you see that it is empty. I am so confused
