The horizontal line is the x-axis and the vertical line is the y-axis. When finding coordinates you always put the x-axis point first i.e (x,y) The points to the right of the x line (past where the x and the y line cross) are all positive (+) and the points above the x,y intersection on the y-axis are also all positive. The point on the x,y intersection is always equal to 0 so in order to get the coordinates you just count from 0 to wherever the points are on both axis. In this case x=1 and y=4 i.e (1,4)
