OpenStudy (aravindg):

is it necessary that a body should be in translational equilibrium for it to be in rotational equilibrium???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it's not necessarily true

OpenStudy (jamesj):

The two are clearly independent. A top can be spinning on a table and not be moving with respect to the table, yet it is clearly not in rotational equilibrium.
