Rational Expressions: 4/5x-15 + x+8/4x^2 - 11x - 3

OpenStudy (4meisu):

I understand that the first step to do is to factorize it and so I will get 4/ 5(x-3) + (x+8)/(4x+1) (x-3) What I'm confused about is what to do next, should I just multiply (x-3) to 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(21x+44)/(20x^2-55x-15) and i can't make the denominator rational

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lcm = 5(4x+1)(x-3) so multi[;y each fraction by lcm lcm is denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply the 5 to (4x-1)(x-3) make it 5(4x-1)(x-3), multiply the factors on each numerator which doesn't have in its denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

= 4(4x+1) + 5(x+8) --------------- 5(4x+1)(x-3) now you need to simplify to finish off

OpenStudy (4meisu):

thanks
