Which property would be used first to simplify the following expression? 4(2x − y + 1) − 3(4x − 2y − 1)

My Dear Aunt Sally..... MDAS... Multiply Divide Add Subtract. Always do your steps in this order. (8x-4y+4) - (-12x +6y +3) I believe would be your second step. I am far from a mathematical genius so don't hang your hat on my answer but I think that's how you would start it. Then you want to combine like terms. 8x - -12x =20x (because when you have the subtraction sign with a negative it becomes a positive) -4y+6y =2y and 4+3 = 7. So I believe your final equation would look like 20x+2y+7. Let me know if I got that right. :D
